Local 1000 Election Results Announced

The results of the recent union leadership election has been released.

In DLC 788, Merry Martson was overwhelmingly elected as the new Unit 1 Bargaining Representative.  Martson, a staff services analyst with the Victims of Crime and Government Claims Board (VCGCB) defeated Neal Johnson, a long-time union activist and former Unit 1 representative.

Also elected was Itzia Rivera, a legislative analyst with the Water Resources Control Board (WRCB) who will now be the new Senior Steward for the CalEPA building (Local Worksite "E").  Rivera defeated Jeff Recht.

Local 1000 members also elected new statewide officers.  Download a PDF copy of the election results.

Martson and Rivera join other new elected leaders in DLC 788.  These new officers take office July 1.
